INTRIALS CREATIVE PROJECT PLANNING IN HOSPITAL-ACQUIRED PNEUMONIA TRIAL WAS FUNDAMENTAL TO ACHIEVE THE COMMITTED RECRUITMENT ACCRUAL ONE MONTH BEFORE DEADLINE.

The successful enrollment of this study, with a complex protocol and procedures, in a highly sought-after patient population, is an example of our expertise in conducting a Phase III Infectious Disease trial. Our accomplishments in this trial have resulted in referrals of our success to conduct new ongoing similar trials, which further strengthens our credentials as experts in Infectious Diseases trials.

During 2005 - 2006, INTRIALS managed and monitored in Brazil a multicenter pivotal Phase III trial in patients with hospital-acquired pneumonia, sponsored by a US-based pharmaceutical industry. The protocol was designed to evaluate both safety and efficacy of a new injectable antibiotic compared to the standard injectable treatment.

Starting recruitment in March 2005, six months after all other countries, our target was to reach 51 patients until December 2005. INTRIALS surpassed this goal with 52 patients recruited one month before the planned time.

Our unique recruitment strategies, as well as our planning procedures that include anticipation of problems, development of contingency plans and corrective measures were fundamental to our achieving the committed recruitment accrual one month before deadline.
